Product details for QNAP TS-1277-1700-64G 12-bay NAS

QNAP's TS-1277-1700-64G desktop NAS is a secure, efficient storage solution for your data. Unlike traditional external hard drives, you can simultaneously connect all computers in your network to this NAS (network-attached storage) device. It offers you over enough storage space and requires significantly less power than regular PCs. The desktop NAS device and is equipped with an AMD PRO Ryzen 7 1700 3.0 GHz processor. The high 64 GB RAM allows several users to simultaneously access its stored data. This model ensures that you won't need to worry about long loading times again. The following data storage forms are available for this desktop NAS system: 0, 5 + hot spare, JBOD, 10, 6, 5, 1, 10 + hot spare, 6 + hot spare, 60 and 50. JBOD (or "just a bunch of disks") allows you to connect hard drives of various sizes to create a multi-drive storage system. Unlike RAID levels, you will not lose any storage capacity of the various drives you combine.

When using RAID 0, hard drives (ideally of equal storage capacities) are interconnected and work in parallel — this means a higher, faster performance as computer tasks are not handled by just one drive. However, there is no fault tolerance because data is not mirrored, which means this RAID level is better suited for high speed storage of large volumes of data. When using RAID 1 your data will be mirrored from one drive to another so that if one fails you will not lose any information. This fault tolerance also means that your total drive storage capacity is halved due to duplicated content. For smaller NAS systems RAID 1 is an ideal option. RAID 5 stores your data on multiple drives, which gives you high data security. If a drive begins to fail, the data it holds will be recreated and distributed to the other drives allowing users to continue working uninterrupted. For larger NAS systems with more than three hard drives RAID 5 is the ideal choice to retain optimal data security and total drive storage capacity. RAID 6 offers you high data security and is still operational even if two hard drives in the system fail.

Experience great quality and good, comprehensive service, from the moment you order to the delivery of your purchase.
